Adda Simon Passes Away Suddenly
Former Resident Drops Dead While Fixing Furnace At Charlotte Home
Mrs. Adda F. Simon, 70, well known former local resident, died suddenly at her home in Charlotte. She had gone to the basement and was fixing the furnace when she collapsed. Death was due to a heart attack.
The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Cheney funeral home in Charlotte and the body brought to Bellevue for burial in the family lot in Riverside cemetery.
Mrs. Simon was born in Vermontville, October 22, 1869; the daughter of Robert and Louise Gunn. Until the death of her husband, Lou Simon, several years ago, she had resided in Bellevue a greater part of her life. She was a life member of the local Eastern Star chapter which she served as worthy matron for three years from 1908 to 1911. In addition she was a charter member of the Louisa G. Hall Past Matrons’ club of this village and a member of the Charlotte chapter of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
Surviving her are two sisters, Mrs. Rosetta Hickman of Charlotte and Mrs. Emma Bussell of Battle Creek; and one brother, Clayton Gunn of Bellevue.
