    Daughter of Robert Boyd and Eleanor Porterfield Boyd;

    Sister of Robert Boyd, Jr., (wife, Mary Glass Boyd).

    Esther Boyd was considered an 'Orphan' when her father died in 1752, even though her mother was still living;
    Esther and her brother Robert were appointed Guardians by the Courts when they were 14 years old. Esther chose Archibald Huston as her Guardian. In those years, a person was considered an "infant" until they were 21 years of age; even if the mother were living, the courts considered the man as the one who could make decisions, thus Archibald Huston was required to post a Bond in order to become Esther's legal Guardian; consequently, a Bond also had to be posted when Esther married Robert Wallace, as she was not yet 21.

    Esther married Robert Wallace in 1769 or 1770...marriage records have not yet been found.
    Their children are as follows:
    Margaret Wallace (Mrs. Benjamin Erwin),
    James Wallace (Wife, Catherine "Katie" Newman Wallace),
    Robert Boyd Wallace (Wife, Mary Alexander Wallace),
    John W. Wallace (Wife, Elizabeth Graham Wallace),
    Moses Wallace (Wife, Elizabeth Kerr Wallace),
    Elizabeth "Betsy" Wallace (Mrs. David Griffith).

    Esther Boyd Wallace......Daughter, Sister, Niece, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Cousin; she died in 1824 and is buried with her Husband, Robert Wallace, in the Old Lebanon Cemetery, close to where she and husband Robert lived and raised their family; they are buried near other members of the Boyd, Wallace, and Armstrong families.
