Elizabeth Mouse Taken Captive by Indians in 1758

Elizabeth Mouse is listed as being taken captive by Indians in the "Ft. Seybert Massacre" on 28 April 1758 in Augusta (later Pendleton) County, Virginia (later West Virginia), which is mentioned in the Indian Attacks of 1755-1758 in Augusta County of settlers killed or captured by "the enemy" (most likely Shawnee Indians being spurred on by the French) in Augusta County.

Information on Elizabeth Mouse

It appears that 7 year old Elizabeth wasone of the children taken captive by the Shawnee ChieftainKillbuck. Elizabeth next appears 7 years later when on 5-21-1765, an Augusta County VA Court approved her choice of John Dunkle asher guardian. This John Dunkle was a neighbor of Nicholas Hevener and of Frederick, his son and Elizabeth's futurehusband, in the South Branch community. [{geni:about_me}]
