"Betty" Called Elizabeth Magdelene in her father's will.

According to a note in the Hill Collection, referring to the NYS HS Quarterly Bulletin, vol.1, no.3, p.80, Elizabeth was born 2 6 February 1705 and baptised 15 April 1705.

Another item, source unlisted, lists her as Elizabeth Madelain e Flandreu, and has her baptised on the above birthdate, but als o mentions that her sponsors were Isaac Mercier and Madelaine Bo ndet.

Rev. Robert Bolton, History of the County of Westchester, vo l 1 (New York: Chas. F. Roper, 1881) p.690: "James Fflanders (Flandreau), a native of France, in 1664, appea rs as a resident of this town (New Rochelle) in 1710, together w ith Catherine, his wife, and their children, James Jr., Peter, a nd Betty."

Following brother John's will, one of his sisters (Elizabeth o r Jane) must have married someone named Jay, as John refers t o a nephew James Jay (unless perhaps James is the son of the sib ling of some unknown wife of John).
