Facts and Events
Name Elizabeth Dugger
Gender Female
Birth? Bef 1725 Surry, Virginia, United States
Death? Aft Jun 1749 Surry, Virginia, United States

Elizabeth Dugger was born ca 1725 or thereabouts, probably in Surry Co, VA. Elizabeth Dugger is probably a daughter of Daniel Dugger and Mary Scarborough. There is no solid proof that she is their child, but they seem the only choice.

Elizabeth Dugger is listed in several Surry Co, VA court records pertaining to bastard children. There is also an Elizabeth "Duggall" listed in the same set of records for the same reason. I'm not sure if Elizabeth "Duggall" is the same person, just misread, or if that is a different person.

In Apr 1746, Elizabeth "Duggall" is in Surry County court for having a bastard child. The record states that the case was dismissed "for certain reasons", but wasn't more specific.

In May 1748 Elizabeth Dugger (spelled Elizabeth Duger) and Lydia Dugger (spelled Lidda Duger) are both in court for having bastard children. They are mentioned on the same record.

In Jun 1749, Elizabeth Dugger (spelled Dugar) and Lydia Dugger ("Ledia Dugar") are both called into court for bastard children.

In Oct 1749 the Last Will and Testament of Thomas Board is acknowledge by Witnesses Ann Williams and Elizabeth "Dugall".

Assuming that Elizabeth "Dugall" is a different person, then Jun 1749 is the last record known for Elizabeth Dugger. The record would seem to show that she had two illegitimate children. One born before May 1748 and another before June 1749.

Unfortunately we don't know who these children were, nor do we know if they were male or female, or who the father or fathers were.

That is all we have (so far) on Elizabeth Dugger. It is entirely possible the Elizabeth died around this time, or that she married someone and if in any additional records, it would be under her married name.

Children

Court records indicate that Elizabeth Dugger was charged with Bastardy three times (or only twice, if the first record for Elizabeth Dugall is a different person). This indicates that she had three children. Unfortunately, the court records do not give the name or sex of the child born, nor do they name the father(s) of the children.

  1. Unknown Child born prior to April 1746
  2. Unknown Child born prior to May 1748
  3. Unknown Child born prior to June 1749
