Edward Perry was baptised on 2nd February 1800 at Eversholt in Bedfordshire, son of Ann Perry, formerly Alce, and her husband John Perry. He appears to have been their youngest child. When Edward was twenty years old, his father died.
On 6th May 1822, Edward married Mary Underwood at Eversholt. They went on to have four children baptised at Eversholt between 1822 and 1830. Mary died in 1833, aged 33.
Four years later, Edward married a widow called Margaret Wright, formerly Hartop, who had three children from her first marriage. They married on 17th September 1837 at Ridgmont, just north of Eversholt, where she had lived with her first husband. After their marriage they returned to Eversholt, where they went on to have four more sons together between the late 1830s and mid 1840s.
The 1841 census finds Edward, Margaret, two sons they had had together and Margaret's two daughters from her first marriage living at Berry End in Eversholt. Edward was described as an agricultural labourer. Two of his sons from his first marriage were living nearby with his mother.
Edward's mother died in 1844.
The 1851 census finds Edward, Margaret, three sons they had had together and one of Margaret's daughters from her first marriage living at Hills End in Eversholt. At this time Edward was described as a garden labourer.
Edward died in 1853, aged 53. Margaret survived him by twenty years.
