Richard William Perry was born on 14th July 1785 and baptised the following month at Woburn in Bedfordshire, son of Ann Perry, formerly Alce, and her husband John Perry. His older brother had been born two years earlier in the neighbouring parish of Eversholt, which is also where several younger siblings would be born too.

Richard has yet to be traced after his baptism.
