Margaret Hartop was baptised on 15th August 1802 at Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire, daughter of William and Lucy Hartop.
On 10th Jun 1828 she married William Wright at Ridgmont in Bedfordshire, a few miles east of Milton Keynes. Margaret and William had a son and two daughters baptised at Ridgmont between 1829 and 1833.
William died in 1834, aged 30.
Margaret remarried three years later, to a widower called Edward Perry, who had four children from his first marriage. They married at Ridgmont on 17th September 1837, but then moved to the neighbouring parish of Eversholt, which was where Edward was from. They appear to have had a further four sons together between the late 1830s and mid 1840s.
The 1841 census finds Margaret and Edward living at Berry End in Eversholt with two sons they had had together and Margaret's two daughters from her first marriage. Edward was described as an agricultural labourer. By 1851 the family had moved to Hills End in Eversholt and Edward was described as a garden labourer.
Edward died in 1853, aged 53.
After his death, Margaret continued to live at Hills End, appearing there in the 1861 census with her youngest, when she was working as a lacemaker. She later moved to the Church End area of Eversholt, appearing there in the 1871 census living alone.
Margaret died in 1873, aged 70.

ch. 15 Aug 1802, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire (Bishop's Transcripts): Margaret daughter of William & Lucy Hortop
Needs to be confirmed at Buckinghamshire Archives. Worth noting that FamilySearch's England Births and Christenings database gives the date as 1st August, not 15th. Although the spelling of her surname here is 'Hortop', and when she married in 1837 was given as 'Hartoph', the baptisms of her three elder siblings all spell the name 'Hartop': Mary in 1792, Abraham in 1796 and Elizabeth in 1799 (from the Buckinghamshire Baptisms database).
