Mary Underwood's origins have yet to be established. The age quoted when she was buried suggests she was born around 1799. Her first confirmed sighting is on 6th May 1822 when she married Edward Perry at Eversholt in Bedfordshire. They went on to have four children baptised at Eversholt between 1822 and 1830.

Mary died in 1833, when she was said to be 33 years old. She was buried at Eversholt on 22nd May 1833.
