Facts and Events
Name Edward Dean
Gender Male
Marriage 28 Apr 1760 Kensworth, Hertfordshire, Englandto Hannah Welsh
Burial[1] 28 Apr 1805 Great Gaddesden, Hertfordshire, England

Edward Dean's origins have yet to be established. His first confirmed sighting is on 28th April 1760 when he was married at Kensworth (then in Hertfordshire) to Hannah Welch. She was about 22 years old and from Kensworth, whilst at the time of their marriage Edward lived in the parish of Great Gaddesden, about five miles south of Kensworth.

After their marriage Edward and Hannah settled at Great Gaddesden, where they had nine children baptised between 1761 and 1778, although two of them died young.

Edward was buried at Great Gaddesden on 28th April 1805; the day that would have been his 45th wedding anniversary. He was therefore presumably at least into his mid-sixties, possibly much older. He had lived to see grandchildren, with at least eighteen grandchildren born in his lifetime, although some of them died young. Hannah survived him by nearly sixteen years.
