Obituary: Mrs. August Wolfe, age 69, died August 6. Three of her grandchildren have succumbed to the disease, namely: Elise, age 4, daughter of Emil & Emma Wolfe, died July 26 Dorothy, age 2, daughter of Arthur & Anna Wolfe, died August 2 Hazel, age nearly 3, daughter of Emil & Emma Wolfe, died August 5. Mrs. August Wolfe died at 2:15 Wednesday morning, August 6, 1919, at the home of her son, Emil Wolfe, on the Milburn farm, northwest of Clifton. She had gone to the home to assist in caring for the family of children suffering from ileo-colitis. She took sick with the same disease Sunday July 27, and her death occured ten days later. Dorothy Willich was born in Germany June 30, 1850, and was educated in that country. She was married to August Wolfe in Chicago in December 1874. She and her husband have lived with their son, Arthur & family for some time. Six children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Wolfe and all survive the mother. They are Maggie, Mrs. Louie Strahl of Clifton; William; Emil; Martha, Mrs. Henry Rahn; Emma, Mrs. John Timm; and Arthur, all residents of Chebanse township. Her husband survives her; also a sister, Mrs. Fred Giertz of Chebanse, and a half-brother, John Henry Willich, in California. Mrs. Wolfe was a Lutheran and her Pastor, the Reverend F. W. Seehausen will conduct the funeral in the German Lutheran Church in Chebanse, at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, August 8. Burial will be made in Evergreen Cemetery at Chebanse.

Along with the Obituary reads: Edward, age 6 and Henry, age nearly 8, sons of Emil Wolfe and Elmer, the son and only remaining child of Arthur Wolfe, are sill very ill and under the care of a physician and nurse. Mildred Wolfe, born April 17, 1919 and her mother, Mrs. Emil Wolfe, were the only two members of both families who did not catch the disease.
