DESCENDANTS OF DANGERFIELD DOBYNS (1765-1846) Separate annotation 1 added to original book

¶331 [revised as ¶N01-01] DANGERFIELD4 DOBYNS (SAMUEL3, CHARLES2, DANIELI) (from ¶328) was born in Richmond Co VA on 30 Nov 1765. (fn 405) By Montgomery Co VA marriage bond dated 3 Nov 1795, he married Eve Barger, daughter of Philip Barger and Eve Clements his wife. Dangerfield Dobyns moved to Montgomery Co by 1800. He appears to have been an early school master in Blacksburg VA. There are numerous deeds recorded there in his name from Sept 1800 to 1825. (fn 406) He appears in the Personal Property Tax Books of Montgomery Co each year from 1806 to 1814. In the U.S. Census for 1810 he appears with his wife and four children under ten and one child between 10 and 16. His death date is undiscovered but he was living in 1834, aged 69, when he and his wife Eve conveyed property in Montgomery Co to James Bryens.

He moved to Johnson Co IN and was dead by 1846. Eve Dobbins appears at age 71 in the 1850 census of White River Township, Johnson Co IN in the household of her son John Dobbins, age 31. Thus she was born about 1779.

There was a series of deeds recorded in Johnson Co from four of the children of Dangerfield Dobyns or their heirs to either John B. Dobyns, the fifth of the children of Dangerfield Dobyns or to William A. Dobbins, grandson of Dangerfield Dobyns, conveying land from the estate of their father and grandfather Dangerfield. The first was from his daughter Mahala Dobyns to John B. Dobyns dated 27 Jan 1847. The second was from Thomas Dobyns and Hannah D. Dobyns his wife to John B. Dobyns, dated 12 Feb 1846. The third was from Elizabeth Dobbins, widow of William A. Dobbins, and William's children and spouses, Virginia Evans and Warrenton B. Evans her husband, John B. Dobbins and Mary Dobbins his wife, and Isa Isom (Ison) and Helen R. Isom (Ison) his wife to William H. Dobyns, apparently another son of William A. Dobbins, dated 4 Nov 1852. The fourth was from Kennerly Dobyns to John B. Dobyns, dated 23 Apr 1857.

Thus, it appears that the children of Dangerfield Dobyns and Eve Barger his wife were
