Dane Alfred Church, age 65 of St. Louis, passed away Monday, May 16, 2005 at St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw, MI.
Funeral services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes, St. Louis Chapel on Friday, May 20, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Mr. Keith J. Wise officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2005 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m.
Mr. Church was born in Alma on November 29, 1939 the son of Kenneth L. and Vida (Woodrow) Church. He lived most of his life in the Alma and St. Louis area. He graduated from Alma High School with the class of 1958. On September 5, 1976 he was married to Patricia Clark in St. Louis.
Mr. Church was in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Fisher Body in 1999. He enjoyed horses and driving his tractor. He loved to do crossword and jigsaw puzzles as well as traveling. He was a past member of the Sheriffs Posse for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Church of St. Louis; three children, Sue McGill of Alma, Rhonda and Fred Best of St. Louis and LeRoy Church of St. Louis; four step-children, Jack and Rose Mallery of Mt. Pleasant, Michael and Cathy Mallery of South Dakota, Renee and Michael Netzley of St. Louis and Larry and Michelle Mallery of Riverdale; six grandchildren, Alex, Tiffiny, Amber, Dana, Hunter and Kayle; nine step-grandchildren, Jamie, Jenniffer, Jessica, Matthew, Megan, Justin, EmmyLou, Mikayla and Nash; three great grandchildren, Hannah, Haleigh and Hazen; mother, Vida Church of Alma; mother-in-law, Mary Clark of St. Louis; one sister, Zelma and Olive Moeggenborg of Alma; two brothers, Marvin and Sandy Church of Alma and Duane Church of Alma; also several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Church was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Melvin and Mervin; and one sister, Gloria.
