Adoptive parents:Charles Minnemeyer and Elizabeth Dunn (1) |
Costa was born Costa Strub. At the age of three he was taken in by Charles and Elizabeth Minnemeyer. He had not been given a middle name, or did not remember one; so he chose "J" to use as a middle initial and took Minnemeyer as his surname. Although there was no legal adoption of Costa by the Minnemeyers, they raised him as their son. His children all called them Grandpa and Grandma Minnemeyer. This information was passed on to me by Costa's eldest son, Charles Hollis Minnemeyer.
Costa was a Mason at the Bargersville Lodge, F. & A. M.
He served during W.W. II as a Military Guard at Eli Lilly's in Indianapolis, Indiana and received a Certificate of Meritorious Service.
Costa retired from Eli Lilly Company.
Edith called him "Costie"
At the time of his Heart Attack he was fishing with my maternal Grandfather, William "Boots" Glassburn.
