Due to ill health, Paylyne moved to Tucson, Pima, Arizona to live with Venola (Bubbles) and her husband Gordon Swatsworth. She died in Tucson in 1974 and was buried in Holbrook, Arizona under the name of Paulyne Saunders.

Paulyne died from cardiac arrest due to or as a consequence of arteriosclerotic cardio vascular disease caused by a fracture of the right hip (per death certificate)
