Came to Providence about the same time as his son-in-law Lawrence Wilkinson, about 1647. He was on the tax-list at Providence in 1650, served on a jury and was made a freeman in 1655. He received land from the town in 1656, 1658 and 1665. Moved to Newport during King Philip's war, during which his home in Providence was burned. Lived in what is now Lincoln, near the present [1908] site of the Butterfly factory, while his home place in Providence was on what is now North Main Street, north of Doyle Avenue. His death in Jun 1676 is recorded in the Friends book.[4], [5]
