Services for Mrs. Catherine Pretty, 79, who died Tuesday of last week in Harrison Community Hospital in Harrison County after a long illness, were held Friday in the Allmon-Dugger Funeral Home at Carrollton. Rev. Henry Holyok officiated and burial was in Westview cemetery. Mrs. Pretty, formerly of 214 East Main Street, Carrollton, had resided at Sunny Slope Nursing Home at Bowerston the past seven months.
Born in Loudon Twp., a daughter of the late Otho and Jane (Kohler) Richards, she was a life resident of Carroll County, a former employee of the Carroll County welfare department and a retired school teacher. She was a member of Carrollton First United Methodist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Doris P. Lee of Clearwater, Florida. On June 16, 1921 she married Eli H. Pretty, owner of the Chevrolet dealership at Carrollton, who died November 1, 1947. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, a sister and a grandson.
