Caroline BUNTYN was born in December 1845 in Georgia (probably Pike County). She resided in Georgia during her entire life. Caroline was enumerated in her father's household on the 1850, 1860, 1870, and 1880 censuses. She cared for her father until his death in 1894. On the 1900 census, Caroline was enumerated in the household of William Henry SMITH, her nephew-by-marriage. Caroline remained unmarried until age 58. On 13 January 1901 in Spalding County, Georgia, she married Moses C. BOWLES, who had previously been married to Caroline's sister, Sarah F. BUNTYN. Caroline was Moses' third wife.

Caroline's date and place of death and place of burial have not been located yet.
