I found this copy of “Assembly Of God Beacon”, November 1944, in some photos that I was going thought that belong to my late sister, she had got Bertie's photos when Bertie passed away..

Bertie was a charter member of the Madisonville Assembly of God
Church she attended when they were still in a tent, was very active
till her health stop her from attending services on a regular base,
but it did not stop her from praying, I found a prayer list that she
                           prayed over daily.
Bertie was a outstanding Sunday School teacher, she had her husband
to build a sand box on leg so it was just right for her beginner Sunday
School class to gather around as she would take the figures of people in
the lesson that she had cut out and pasted to cardboard so they would
stand up in the sand..and tell the story..it became real in your mind as
she would teach the lesson. She also used flannel grafts, and then she
would take a shoe box cut out things that pertain to the lesson and make
a setting of the story, she would cover it with tissue paper and cut a peep
hole in the end and let each one of the students peep in and see. I am now
68 years of age and I still remember her lessons..she would teach the
lesson in such a way as you would not forget...I knew it so well by the age
of 4 that I stood in front of the Church and using a flannel graft I told the
story of David killing Goliath. She taught me how to pray, I prayed the
dismissal prayer for the main Sunday Morning Worship Service at age
of 4 or 5. I am sure she plained the seed for the love of God to grow in
                           many a heart.
