About John Addie Isbell

John Addie came to Oklahoma before statehood..he met and Married Nola Ann William who had moved there from Bell County, Texas.. He was a farmer and a Oil Field Worker...in 1934 a little less than a year after Nola Ann died he gave his baby girl Lavonia (Skeet) to one of his Daughters (Connie Isbell Bradley) to raise, then he and his only living son (Noble)age 15 moved to California and both live in California the rest of their lives..

Wewoka, Oklahoma "FORMER CITY MAN IS DEAD"

    John Addie Isbell 77, former Wewoka resident, died Tuesday at his home in Auburn, California. He was born in Bowling Green, Ky.(should have be Jamestown, Ky.)
    A retired farmer, Isbell resided in Wewoka from 1931-1936..he lived in Lincoln, California, 25 years.
    Services are set for 2 P.M. Saturday in the Stout-Saber Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Bear officiating. burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
    Survivors include a son Nobel Isbell, of Auburn; four daughters, Miss Vada Isbell of Roseville, California, Mrs Bertie Bowerman
     SURVIVORS INCLUDE A SON, NOBEL ISBELL,  OF AUBURN; FOUR

DAUGHTERS, MISS VADA ISBELL OF ROSEVILLE,CALIFORNIA. MRS BERTIE BOWERMAN of Madisonville, Ky.' Mrs Connie Bradley of Greenville, Ky., and Mrs Lovonia Downing of Boonville, Indiana and 12 grandchildren.

     The body will be received here Friday evening by Stout-Sarber..

(he died in California and was buried in Oklahoma)

Buried in the wrong place

John Addie Isbell is buried where the tomb stone reads John Addie and Nola Ann Isbell...but they were suppose to bury him beside Nola Ann his wife who had been dead 28 years but they miss read the map...so he is bury one place and she is bury another place in the same cemetery...she has a small marker at her Grave....Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Seminole County, Oklahoma
