Annie Allen was born in 1897 at Markyate in Hertfordshire, daughter of a straw hat sewer named Emily Allen, formerly Moss, and her husband Frederick Allen, a straw hat blocker. Annie appears in both the 1901 and 1911 censuses living with her parents and siblings in Markyate. She has yet to be researched after 1911.
