Ann May was baptised on 28th May 1815 at Templeton in Devon. She was the youngest daughter of Mary May, formerly Cockram, and her husband Robert May, a farmer.
By 1851 Ann was living in Exeter and working as a seamstress. She was still there ten years later. Some time between 1861 and 1871 she moved to Cullompton, and moved again by 1881 to Tiverton. She never married.
Ann appears to have died in 1884, aged 69.
