She graduated from Ohio Northern University in Ada, Ohio at a very young age and taught school for the rest of her life. She and her youngest sister, Daisy Frances, and a niece, Marianne Pyle, as pupils. She was a good mixer, socially, and was easy to talk with before she went deaf. She tended to be phlegmatic, although she did have a temper. She always had trouble with her feet and used to walk the block from the school to the house on the grass, never the sidewalk, which used to put our Bill (William Baldwin) in stitches. Guess we were all (the next generation) at the nasty brat stage. She had a father fixation. She never talked about her mother, always about her father, how wonderful he was, how intellectual (this I believe to be true), how he had scarlet fever as a boy and never very strong after that. On the anniversary of his death she always announced at breakfast that he died such and such years ago, ditto for his birthday. Her primary concern all her life was her health. Her sisters, Dell and Daisy Frances, always said she would outlive her brothers and sisters and she did. She was 97 years old when she died. She and her sister, Daisy Frances, lived together in Mount Vernon, Ohio for many years. After the death of Daisy Frances in 1958, she went to live in Independence, Ohio with her nieces, Virginia and Marianne.

These notes and comments were made by Virginia Spearman to William A. Coup.
