Andrew Poage was one of the Early Settlers of Augusta County, Virginia __________________________ [edit] Noteshttp://www.mal.net/EarlyPresbyterians/presbiop.htm Rev. Andrew W. Poage (b. pre 1797-ca. 1842) He was taken under care of the Washington Presbytery of Kentucky and Ohio in 1815 as a candidate. He went to Princeton for one year and was licensed August 7, 1817. In 1819 he was dismissed to the Presbytery of Miami. He was appointed stated supply for the church of Yellow Springs, now Clifton, Ohio. He was ordained and installed October 19, 1819. He continued there until his death, about 22 years. Muddy Run was part of his field for several years. http://www.miamitownship.net/cemetery.asp Rev. Andrew Poage died in 1840, and his parishioners buried him at the front of the old log church pulpit. His successor Rev. He married a MOODIE and wife in Indiana that I am tracking that may be linked to my own Moody family. There was a James MOODY (Moodie?)in Rockbridge Co., VA in 1752 and I am wondering if there might be some sort of familiarity link here. Thank you very much. References
