THE NEWLYWED SAMUEL JONESES IN NIAGARA FALLS ----------------- 56 or 57 Soon to make their home at 621 Hosmer st. are the newlywed Samuel R. Joneses who were married Saturday in the Pilgrim Congregational church. The bride is the former Mrs. Abbie Parks of Hosmer st., and the bridegroom formerly made his home at 1305 W. Kalamazoo st. Mrs Jay Groh was honor matron and bridesmaids were Miss Karen Sayre and Miss Dianna Leseney. Melvin Parks served as best man and ushering were Forgus Parks and William Drayer. After a reception in the church parlors, the newlyweds left for a honeymoon trip to Niagara Falls and New York state.


FUNERALS - JONES, ABIGAIL M. (PARKS) -- Formerly of Lansing ------------------------- Age 85, died Monday, August 15, 1983. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. Palmer-Bush Chapel, with Rev. John W. Ellinger of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Al Groh, Wayne Bowers, Ray Perry, Larry Gee, Roger Gee, and Ken Fellows.


OBITUARY - JONES, ABIGAIL M. (PARKS) ------Formerly of Lansing ----------------- Age 85, died Monday, August 15, 1983 in Charlotte, MI. She was a resident of Lansing most of her adult life. Mrs. Jones was a member of Pride of Ingham Rebekah Lodge # 496 I.O.O.F., Gold Star Mothers, Blue Star Mothers and had attended Pilgrim Congregational Church. She is survived by 2 sons, Melvin Parks & Forgus Parks both of Lansing; 8 grandchildren; 16 great - grandchildren; 2 brothers, Charlie Gee of Lansing and Forgus Gee of Holt; 2 sisters Mary Groh & Gerogia Bowers both of Lansing. She is preceded in death by her husbands, James E. Parks & Samuel Jones; 1 son, James E. Jr. & 1 daughter, Georgia C. . Friends may call at the Palmer-Bush Funeral Home Wed. 2 -4 & 7 - 9 p.m. where services will be held Thursday 1:30 p.m. Rev. John W. Ellinger of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Interment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
