    Aaron Sr (VanSchaick) Vanscoy was born on 25 Dec 1732 in Freehold, Monmouth, New Jersey, USA. His parents were Francis Seden Vanscoy - Vanschaick (1689-1754) and Isabel Rhea VanScoy (1700-1744).

    Aaron moved to Virginia and was married 3 different times. He first married Ruth (1751-1802) in 1772. At this time we don't know the name of Ruth's parents or her last name. Some say her last name was Grimes, and others say it was Cope. Aaron Sr. and Ruth Vanscoy had 8 known children: Abigail Vanscoy 1773 in Randolph, Virginia, USA; Aaron Vanscoy 1775 in Randolph, Virginia, USA; Jacob Vanscoy 1780 in Randolph, Virginia, USA; Timothy Vanscoy 1788 in Randolph, Virginia, USA; Sarah Vanscoy 1790 in Randolph, Virginia, USA; Betsey Vanscoy 1791 in Randolph, Virginia, USA; Jonathan Vanscoy 1793 in Randolph, Virginia, USA and Francis Vanscoy 1795 in Randolph, Virginia, USA.
