    There is no contemporary record of this marriage. Adams gives no source for the marriage of Joseph and Beata. Several facts bolster the value of this source: Beata's birth date in the Guilford records is consistent with that calculated from her tombstone; the son she died delivering was named Peleg, the name of her younger brother and a name not previsously used in the Wetmore family; she and Joseph were both living in Litchfield at the probable time of their marriage, and Joseph had purchased and extension to his holding in Litchfield from her brother.
