The relationships between Joseph and Abigail (Roberts) Wetmore are interesting. First their fathers were step brothers, Joseph's father, Joseph Wetmore, Sr. was the son of Thomas Wetmore and Abigail's father the son of Catherine (_____)(Roberts)(Leete) Wetmore, the third wife of Thomas. They probably grew up together in the household of Thomas and Catherine in Middletown.

They were also second cousins, once removed, as Joseph was a great grandson of John Hall, while Abigail was John Hall's great great granddaughter.
