    Abigail Fitch4 (Alice3 Bradford, William1-2) b. Norwich, Conn. 22 Feb 1687/8; d. Canterbury, Conn., 19 May 1759 aged 71.

    She m. Canterbury, Conn. 22 Oct 17113 John Dyar, b. Weymouth 9 April 1692; d. Canterbury, Conn., 25 Feb 1779 aged 86; son of Joseph and Hannah (Baxter) Dyer. He m. (2) Canterbury, Conn., 4 Oct 1759 Joane (Christophers) Leffingwell.

    On 12 Jan. 1721/2 James Fitch sold to John Dyer 12 acres and on 28 Mar 1723 he sold to his son-in-law John Dyer all his land in Canterbury not otherwise disposed of.

    On 4 May 1743 John Dyer of Canterbury gave to his eldest son Elijah Dyar part of his home farm and 25 acres. On 10 May 1743 John sold to his son James Dyar land with a dwelling house and barn. On 24 May 1749 John sold to his son John 35 acres. On 23 Mar 1752 John sold to his on James another 55 acres. On 25 Sept. 1759 John gave to Elijah another three pieces of land, and on 1 Oct. 1759 he gave his son Joseph 100 acres with a dwelling house.

    The will of John Dyar of Canterbury dated Apr 1773, proved 2 March 1779, mentions a covenant made with wife Joanna which is in the keeping of Thomas Leffingwell; his negro woman Gene; son-in-law Benjamin Throo [sic] to have negro man Shem; daughters Sibel Throop, Abigail Cobb, and Sarah Hares; and sons John, Joseph, Elijah and James. In a codocil dated 18 March 1773 he gave to his wife his youngest negro child Rose.
