No marriage record has been found in Ashe Co., NC nor elsewhere, but it would appear Jacob and Mary married between ca 1800 and ca 1807, either in Ashe or Wilkes Co., NC.

11 Children are proven by the Estate Records of Jacob Fouts and Mary M. Baker Fouts. Early census records suggest there were other children who may have died young. No Family Bible or other record of that sort has been found that would give all the children's names and dates including those who died young.
