Henry was a farmer in New Haven, Indiana. At his draft registration for World War I, Henry signed his name "Henry E. Gerardot" and named his wife "Lillie." He was described as of medium height and medium build with grey eyes and dark hair. In 1942, when he registered for the draft for World War II, Henry was working at International Harvester Company in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Henry and Lillian had ten children, three sons and seven daughters. Henry's obituary reads, "Services for Henry E. Gerardot, 80, R. R. 2, New Haven, will be at 9 a.m. Monday in E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, New Haven and 9:30 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon, Rev. Fred Cardinali officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Gerardot died at 10:57 p.m. Thursday in Parkview Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient 23 days. He was a lifelong resident of Jefferson Township and was employed 25 years at International Harvester Co., retiring 15 years ago. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Besancon, its Holy Name Society, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and Knights of Columbus in Decatur. Surviving are his wife, Lillian; three sons, Manfred, Los Alamos, N.M., Wilbur, New Haven, and George, R. R. 2, New Haven; six daughters, Mrs. Norbert Lomont, Mrs. Bernard Renier, and Mrs. Carl Ottenweller, all of R. R. 2, New Haven, Sr. Rita Clair, stationed in St. Mary's-of-the-Woods, Terre Haute, Mrs. Ben Anderson, New Haven, and Mrs. Duane Roehling, Los Alamos; 33 grandchildren; and a brother, Sherman, R. R. 7, Fort Wayne. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Rosary services will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home." Mrs. Gerardot was a lifelong resident of Jefferson Township. Surviving are two sons, Wilbur of Fort Wayne and George of New Haven, and six daughters, Mrs. Dolores Lomont, Mary Ottenweller, Sister Rita Clare, S. P., and Juanita Anderson, all of New Haven, Eileen Renier of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Jackie Roehling of Los Alamos, N. M. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday in E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, New Haven, and 10:30 a.m. in St. Louis Catholic Church, east of New Haven. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where a rosary service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the church cemetery."
