Cookie's obituary reads, "NEW HAVEN. BERNARD O. "COOKIE" RENIER, 83, died Thursday at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Allen County, he retired in 1982 after 23 years as supervisor of transportation for Guardian Industries. Surviving are his wife, Eileen; four sons, Ronald and Thomas, both of New Haven, Richard of Angola and Dennis of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Rita Girardot of Woodburn; eight grandchildren; and three great-granchildren. Prayer services at 9:45 a.m. Monday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 U.S. 30 E., New Haven. Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic Church, east of New Haven. Calling from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with a vigil at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in church cemetery.
