Emile and Amelia were married by Rev. P. F. Veniard. Their witnesses were Franciscus Gladieux, Josephus Cochoit, Amilo Ternet, and Amelia Gladieux. Their marriage license read "Emil Ternet and Emily Gladieux." They had one daughter, Lillian. Emile was a farmer in Jefferson Township of Allen County, Indiana. Emile's obituary reads, "TERNET. Amile Ternet, 73, died Saturday evening at 9 o'clock at his home at Besancon. Surviving are widow, Mrs. Amelia Ternet; nine grandchildren; a brother, Charles Ternet of Besancon; and two sisters, Mrs. S. C. Gladiux of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. George Townsend of New Haven. The body was removed to the Ternet-Lehman funeral parlors at New Haven. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Louis Catholic church at Besancon. Burial in the church cemetery." [Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, Monday 26 December 1932, pg. 5] Amelia's obituary reads, "TERNET. Mrs. Amelia Rose Ternet, 75, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Gerardot, near New Haven at 2 p.m. yesterday. Surviving are Mrs. Gerardot, nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild, three brothers, Louis Gladieux of Fort Wayne and Frank and Edward Gladieux of New Haven, and one sister, Mrs. Louis Roussell of Jefferson township. The body was taken to the Ternet and Schlib funeral home and will be returned to the Gerardot home tonight. Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday at the home and at 9 a.m. at the St. Louis Catholic church at Besancon, Rev. Joseph Hession officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery."
