About the Speedy Delete Committee

Members of the Speedy Delete Committee are responsible for reviewing pages marked for Speedy Delete, deleting pages, and removing the Speedy Delete template from pages if the reason for deletion is invalid.

Overview Committee Liaison

Pkeegstra is available as a liaison between this group and the Overview Committee. There may be times that additional help is needed for this group to operate smoothly. Some examples include: a need for additional volunteers, questions about tasks, requests for assistance with conflict resolution, requests for policy changes, etc. If you would like help, please feel free to contact me either via my talk page or via email

Instructions

This page belongs to the Speedy Delete Committee. Please feel free to modify the instructions as needed

1. Please review these pages by going to Admin>Speedy Delete
2. Click on a page in the category and check the date it was marked for deletion. If no one has put a valid objection on the talk page, and the reason for deletion is reasonable, delete the page according to the following timeline:

• Living entered in the name fields: Deleted on sight. If a person with living as a name was created by a presently active contributor, they may be deleted at the patrol person's discretion (either immediately or after 14 days)
• Requests to delete one's own pages: Immediate action.
• Anything else, including "possibly living": 14 days

Family pages:

• When there is a Family page with a living spouse and deceased children, the Family page is kept intact by titling with Unknown for the living person and removing the marriage date.
• If the Family has no deceased children, then the Family page is deleted.

3. Oftentimes, a Person page is marked for Speedy Delete due to concerns they are still living. Please check if their Family page also needs to be deleted (ie both spouses marked for deletion) as this is not always marked for Speedy Delete. Also, if a Family page is marked for Speedy Delete, please check if their corresponding Person pages need to be deleted as well.
