Adding links to other websites [13 May 2011]
Hi, Sue! It's easy to add links to other websites, such as FindAGrave. In the large text box, enter [http://www.example.com] (obviously replacing "www.example.com" with the real URL <g>). If you want text to show instead of the URL (like on the links to FindAGrave on the cemetery pages), enter a space after the URL and then the text you want to appear, like this: [http://www.example.com This text will appear instead of the URL]. You can find all sorts of formatting ideas on the Help:Formatting page.
If you're ever curious about how a page is formatted, you can always click "Edit" to see how different things are entered. You don't have to actually change anything; you can click "cancel" at the bottom of the page when you're done. I hope this helps! -- Amy (Ajcrow) 09:29, 13 May 2011 (EDT)
I was leaving a note for Amy and happened to see your note just above it. Welcome aboard! At some point, you might want to put some text on your user page, by the way. Noting your experience, special interests, and so on will get the attention of people you might want to be in contact with. Judy and I have both been on here for some time, as I'm sure you know, so both our user pages have a number of links to special projects, etc. --MikeTalk 21:04, 17 May 2011 (EDT)
