Next step: Review your GEDCOM [22 May 2013]

You're not done yet!

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded NEWEXPORT.GED, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

Click here to review your GEDCOM

Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

Thomas Wetmore [24 May 2013]

Hello Hal, I have 2 descents from Thomas, on my mother's side from Mary and John Stow and on my father's from Samuel and Mary Bacon. see [1] and [2]--Scot 17:46, 23 May 2013 (EDT)

I didn't realize I had this page. Now I'll find out if this gets back to you. You and Neal are both descended from Samuel then, which makes both of you "double" cousins, as my Joseph married his wife's younger sister. And, that explains why the two of you spent so much time on the Thomas page.

I see we share a lot of interests, although I've about given up baking bread (too old for it now), don't especially like Japanese food, and my sons have not provided me with grandchildren, and as both their wives are past forty I no longer expect them.

I've done a good bit with Samuel's line, but following the male line. I'm the new Registrar for the Society of Middletown First Settlers Descendants and have gotten some pretty well documented lines from Samuel and Beriah which I will eventually add here.

And, I have a new son to add to the Samuel list. JCW assigned Moses to Nathaniel, but it turns out he is the son of Samuel. He's not in the VR, but I found a record of his baptism at the First Church.

Hal

Your gedcom import [24 May 2013]

Hi, it appears that for some reason none of the wives have husbands and none of the husbands have wives. We need most of your family to have a mother and a father. Since you have dates for every marriage, I assume there was some problem with your gedcom generator. I tried to line up the husbands and wives, but none of the dates match. Please go back through your file and connect the husbands and wives. If you have any questions, please leave me a message Thanks, --sq 22:42, 23 May 2013 (EDT)

Thank you for catching this. I'll try to figure out what the problem is. I'll have to add a couple of deaths as well. Your system of catching things is darned good!!!--Hnwhitmore 01:30, 24 May 2013 (EDT)

Izrahiah Wetmore Jr [25 June 2013]

Hal Took the liberty of combining the two Izrahiah Wetmore Jr pages. All references, details transferred.--Neal Gardner 20:07, 25 June 2013 (EDT)

Thanks Neal.

Thanks for making the connection to Jonathon Doolittle and Rebecca Raney [25 June 2013]

Got your message about the incorrect date -- it was probably from other contributors. I merged two page since they seemed to be the same persons, and then realized that one date didn't make sense. (I'm one of the volunteers who watch for duplicate pages that should probably be merged.) I'm glad you were watching the page and made the needed corrections. Many thanks. --GayelKnott 22:42, 25 June 2013 (EDT)

Levi Tiffany [26 July 2021]

Hi

I'm sure you noticed the latest post on Neal Gardner's Talk page about historical documents related to Levi Tiffany, but I wanted to draw your attention to it just in case you missed it. Neal hasn't contributed to WeRelate since 2018, so I'm not sure whether or not he will follow up. You are the only one watching Levi Tiffany's page who is still active on WeRelate.

I don't want to send 2 different people to try to get access to the same historical documents, but I thought you might want to follow up to find out if Neal has contacted Edward Wood.

Take care--DataAnalyst 20:12, 26 July 2021 (UTC)
