Parthena

I have a Parthena Davis m. John Stover 31 DEC 1868, who had a host of siblings (and a long lineage). Do you have any other clues? You can email me offline if you like.--Brad Patrick 10:26, 23 April 2007 (MDT)

Cyrus Beck immigration [12 August 2007]

Gam3, There is an immigration record of Cyrus and Hannah to the U.S. in 1933 - I am pretty sure it is your Cyrus Beck - do you have this already? I would be glad to send it to you.--Debbie V. 18:35, 12 August 2007 (EDT)

Untitled_2.ged appears to overlap a previously-imported GEDCOM [28 October 2007]

The pages from this GEDCOM have not yet been generated because they appear to match pages from a GEDCOM you have previously imported to WeRelate.

If you have already imported a GEDCOM containing people in this GEDCOM and you want to replace that tree with this GEDCOM, you need to delete that tree first so duplicates aren't created when you import this GEDCOM. Go to the Family Tree page, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the "delete" link next to that tree. Please be aware that any pages in that tree that are being watched by others won't get deleted. Once that tree is deleted you can create a new tree and re-upload this GEDCOM into it. (We're planning to make re-uploading GEDCOM files much simpler later this Fall.)

If you don't think you have already imported a GEDCOM containing people in this GEDCOM, or if the two GEDCOM's don't overlap that much, leave a message for Dallan or send an email to dallan@WeRelate.org and we'll go ahead with the import.

Putnam's of Houlton, ME [5 January 2009]

We seem to have a connection in Houlton. If you haven't seen it, this book might be interesting to you. "The Story of Houlton: From the Public Records, and from the Experiences of Its Founders, Their Descendants, and Associates to the Present Time" by Francis Barnes. You can find it on Google Books. I belive he was a great grnadchild of Person:Christiana Wormwood (3) and there appears to be direct qoutes from her in chapter 2. I have not had time to incorperate this info into the pages yet. Ann Hopton [6 March 2009]

Hi, I am an admin for WeRelate and it's my job to review merges. I was looking at your merge for Special:ReviewMerge/20840&rcid=7491262. I was wondering if you have any information supporting merging Ann with Alice. They were born and died in different countries and in different years. I suspect that James had two wives. Perhaps these pages should be unmerged? Thanks.  :)--sq 00:20, 1 March 2009 (EST)

Both women have the same last name, and seem to both have the same first name as well. The Ann Hopton entry refers to her as Lady Alice.--Gam3 16:36, 6 March 2009 (EST)

Canton, Massachusetts Directory 1887 [6 April 2009]

Hello,

I am a volunteer admin here at WeRelate. I noticed that you created the following Source page: Source:Canton, Massachusetts Directory 1887. In order to follow our naming conventions, I need to rename this page. I see this is an Ancestry.com database, but I believe it's primary source is: Resident and Business Directory of Canton, Mass. for 1887. Thus, the Source would be titled:

United States, Massachusetts, Norfolk, Canton. Resident and Business Directory of Canton, Mass. for 1887

I will await your response before I proceed.

Thank you!--Jennifer (JBS66) 17:53, 6 April 2009 (EDT)

I saw that you renamed the source, but I think because I bolded the wrong item above, it was confusing! I renamed it to Source:United States, Massachusetts, Norfolk, Canton. Resident and Business Directory of Canton, Mass. for 1887 (geographic sources follow the form: Place.Title (where place is in the order: country, state, county, town)). I also changed your Person:John Burton (40) to match - I hope that's ok!

Thank you!--Jennifer (JBS66) 18:43, 6 April 2009 (EDT)

Hi, I reviewed your GEDCOM but moved it back to user review because I would like you to do something further on it: You matched two of your families with existing families. Your families have some terrific sources attached to them, and the existing families don't. You also have some additional "residence" events. By default, when you match your family to an existing family, the information in your GEDCOM is not added to the existing family; you have to specify which pieces of information from your GEDCOM you want added. Would you please review your GEDCOM again? Click on each of the two families that you matched, check the boxes to the left of the information from your GEDCOM that you would like added to the existing pages (you can also uncheck boxes to the right to remove redundant information from the existing pages), then click the Update button at the bottom of the screen. When you've done this, click on the Import tab and click Ready to Import again and I'll import it right away. One of the goals at WeRelate is to encourage people to add real sources, so I'd love to see yours on these existing pages. Thanks!--Dallan 14:59, 20 June 2009 (EDT)

Thomas Rogers [14 July 2009]

I backed out your merge of Thomas Rogers. I don't think we're looking at just one "Thomas Rogers". I think we're looking at several, where there has been cross contamination of facts. I think we need to get some better source material before we do anything with this person(s)....

William Bloom's tombstone [20 January 2011]

Hi Gam3,

This is Neal Gardner, a descendant of the PA Bloom family. Although I descend from a sibling of William Bloom (1752-1828), I wondered if you had his age at death. I can't be absolutely sure from the photograph. I have his birthdate as 26 Feb 1752, not 28 Feb 1752. I'm descended from Eva Bloom who married Mark Jordan. Thanks.--Neal Gardner 13:46, 18 January 2011 (EST)

From the headstone I get - Friday, February 25, 1752--Gam3 14:37, 20 January 2011 (EST), so I would think you have the correct date. I am sure my date was not authoritative.

Next step: Review your GEDCOM [5 August 2011]

You're not done yet!

WeRelate is different from most family tree websites. By contributing to WeRelate you are helping to create Pando for genealogy, a free, unified family tree that combines the best information from all contributors.

Now that you have uploaded Edmunds Family Tree.ged, your next step is to review what your pages will look like, review any potential warnings, and combine (merge) people in your GEDCOM with matching people already on WeRelate. You need to review your GEDCOM before it can finish importing. We will keep your GEDCOM in the queue for two weeks to give you time to review it.

Note: if your gedcom contains many errors or multiple families, we’d ask that you resolve and correct the errors, delete this gedcom and re-submit it without the errors before merging it with families already on WeRelate. If the gedcom is very large, we’d suggest breaking it up into separate files (or families) and importing them one at a time, which makes the review and correction process easier.

Click here to review your GEDCOM

Once you have finished your review and marked your GEDCOM Ready to import, one of our administrators will review your GEDCOM and finalize the import. This usually happens within 24 hours. You will receive a message here when the pages have been created.

Hello, we noticed a copyright notice that you've added to the following Person Page:

Leonard family [24 January 2017]

Hello, I noted that you posted a picture of Clarinda Black and William Kenyon Leonard. I descend from their daughter Clara Adele Kelsey and daughter Hattie Ann Kelsey. Do you live in Heavener? My grandparents families were from around there and many are buried in Heavener. Roberts, McBrides, Kelseys, Leonards, Nichols. Would love to hear your connection, Linda--Llkehm 02:21, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Cyrus W. Beck & Hannah E. Senior [24 November 2017]

I am curious to know what it is that you would like to know or find out about this family. They would be my GG Grandparents on my Grandmothers side. My Great Grandmother was Ada May.--Artnook 19:34, 24 November 2017 (UTC)

Pages for Living Individuals Not Allowed [10 June 2018]

Hi

You might or might not be aware that WeRelate policy does not allow pages for living individuals (see FAQ:Can I create pages for living persons). I am in the process of ensuring that no pages with "Living" in the title remain on the site, so that new users do not think they can create pages for living individuals. I note that you have several in your trees. If you would like some time to update them, please let me know, and I will handle other pages first and come back to yours later. If I don't hear from you, I will likely start to address your pages in a few weeks.

Note that I have been attempting to preserve as many pages as I can by doing some very limited online research to see if the person is in fact deceased. Given the number of pages titled Living, I cannot spend much time on each page, so the pages are more likely to be preserved if you can provide death information yourself.

Please reply here if you plan to update the pages yourself (even if you can't get to it for a few months), or if you have any questions or concerns. I will be watching this page. Respectfully, --DataAnalyst 20:37, 10 June 2018 (UTC)
