Putnam.ged appears to overlap a previously-imported GEDCOM [29 November 2008]

The pages from this GEDCOM have not yet been generated because they appear to match pages from a GEDCOM you have previously imported to WeRelate.

If you have already imported a GEDCOM containing people in this GEDCOM and you want to replace that tree with this GEDCOM, you need to delete that tree first so duplicates aren't created when you import this GEDCOM. Go to the Family Tree page, scroll down to the bottom of the page, and click on the "delete" link next to that tree. Please be aware that any pages in that tree that are being watched by others won't get deleted. Once that tree is deleted you can create a new tree and re-upload this GEDCOM into it. (We're planning to make re-uploading GEDCOM files much simpler later this Fall.)

If you don't think you have already imported a GEDCOM containing people in this GEDCOM, or if the two GEDCOM's don't overlap that much, leave a message for Dallan or send an email to dallan@WeRelate.org and we'll go ahead with the import.

What are you doing? [2 December 2008]

Did you not read the information about Person:John Wheeler (88) before merging him into Person:John Wheeler (4)? If so, you would have noticed comments saying exactly that this was not the case. You created an error by doing this merge. Please ask the WeRelate administrators to undo it. --Jrich 11:41, 2 December 2008 (EST) Obviously the original owner of the page never removed Sarah Larkin as wife, but you should have noticed that he had different parents and it should have caused some care before merging. I will fix this by hand.--Jrich 11:50, 2 December 2008 (EST)

I apologize too for over-reacting. After some hunting I realized the page was half one way and half the other, and that I had never followed up even when there was no response to my comment on the Talk page. It had to go one way and I guess there was no reason to think yours was any less reasonable than the way I was favoring. It also turns out not to be that much work to clean up since there is also a duplicate for the correct wife. So the results are all good. Thanks.--Jrich 12:04, 2 December 2008 (EST)

Person Pages: Peter Nowell, Sarah Weare, Mary Nowell [21 April 2011]

On each of these pages in the Personal History area is the name: MARIA FRANCISCA DE ROCHA, BOGOTA, COLOMBIA. What is the purpose/significance of this name?--Nana Nowell 12:17, 20 April 2011 (EDT)

This was my father' data. I suspect it may have been where he got the info from but cannot variafy that because he has passed away.--Awputnam 23:28, 20 April 2011 (EDT)

Thanks for your reply. So sorry for your loss. I have a lot of information about Peter Nowell and his descendants and will be entering it soon. Could we possibly put the name in a note for future reference?--Nana Nowell 13:13, 21 April 2011 (EDT)

Joining You [12 July 2012]

Dear Andy,

I'm joining you on We Relate and am exploring how to use the website. I think I'll send an email to Clarissa since she is interested in the family geneology as well.

Take care, Kathy--KPGrinch 00:43, 12 July 2012 (EDT)

Margaret Gear [27 February 2015]

I have been researching women who were in my area of Texas from 1840-1890. I have some information about Margaret Gear - her grave, her husband's and daughter's information and some other information. I am looking for more information on Margaret -- any letters or articles on her, etc. Would you like to share??
