and his wid. d. 4 Sept. 1727, d 67. JOSEPH, Newbury, s. of the
first Anthony, w. Joanna had Hannah, b. 15 Feb. 1681; Joshua, 11
Apr. 1686;, d. in few wks.; and Anthony, 15 Apr. 1688. He d. 28
Mar. 1691, says Coffin; but the Geneal. wh. agrees with C. that his
d. 10 Apr. 1691, gives him sec. w. Mary. JOSHUA, came to R.
says the Geneal. and serv. as chaplain in King William's war with the
French, had gr. the same name, wh. was a preach. NATHANIEL,
Sheborn, s. of Daniel, first of the name, by w. Mary had Nathaniel, b.
1680, d. soon; Nathaniel, again, 1682; Joseph, 1683; Benjamin, 1684,
prob. d. soon; Aaron, 5 Mar. 1686; Mary and Rachel, tw. 2 Apr.
1687; Ruth, 21 Oct. 1688; Dorothy, 1695 and Obadiah, 1698; was a
deac. and d. 17 Oct. 1728. OBADIAH, Sherborn, eldest br. of the
preced. freem. 1672 or being so ent. in ea. yr. m. Martha Johnson,
had only Obadiah, wh. d. young, was first clk. of the town, and deac. d.
4 Mar. 1704, and his wid. d. 1714. An OBADIAH, among rem. 1674,
is call. of Portsmouth in the rec. but I fear, he can have no more told of
him, but that in Feb. 1690, with majority N. H. people, he desir. jurisdict. of
Mass. PETER, Newbury, br. of the first Anthony, prob. went with others to N. J.
where they obtain. large gr. of ld. ROBERT, Boston, br. of the first Anthony,
brot. from Eng. w. Elizabeth and prob. s. Abraham, had James, b. at B. 1644,
rem. to Newbury, perhaps bef. his w. d. but more likely aft. m. 30
Oct. 1654, Ann Lewis, had Elizabeth b. 25 Sept. 1655, d. in 6 mos.; Robert,
1 Feb. 1657; Mary, 25 Feb. 1658, d. in 8 mos.; a d. 6 Dec. 1660,
wh. liv. not to obt. a name; Lydia, 13 July 1662; and Sarah, 28 Apr.
1665, but Coffin makes it a yr. later; some time at Rowley, there,
perhaps, had Peter, and at least rem. to N. J. SAMUEL, Dedham,
f. of Daniel, came in the Increase, from London, 1635, aged 50, with
w. Elizabeth 48, and s. Joseph, bef. ment. but how the other childr. came
or when, is uncert.; freem. 8 Oct. 1640, says the Geneal. 20 June
1654; but either that date or one of his will is wrong, as pub. in
Geneal. Reg. V. 299, where the test. is 2 Dec. 1654. Mr.
Morse assures me, the true d. is 5 Dec. I presume the d. of
his s. Joseph was intend. for June. Farmer says he d. 3 days aft.
and agrees with town rec. therein. It gives w. Elizabeth all his est. but aft.
her life to be div. among ch. John, Daniel, Mary, w. of Samuel
Bullen, beside Ann, wid. of Joseph, for his childr. equal. and no more;
that I doubt the other names giv. in the Geneal. may not be all
correct, especially as Abigail is said, therein, to m. Daniel Fisher, the
speaker, whose w. was, I think, Abigail, d. of Thomas Marrett. Geneal.
Reg. IX. 141, gives the inv. by wid. Elizabeth 10 Jan 1655. Perhaps the
dates are confus. by the numerals for mos. and days in one of the
transact. being interchang. The wid. d. 20 June 1665. SAMUEL, perhaps
s. of the preced. liv. at Dedham, says the Geneal. there by w.
Mary Bullen had Mary, b. 20 June 1642; and Samuel; but it could
