L. I., but many yrs. bef. was a soldier in Dec. 1675 of Johnson's comp.
CLEMENT, Hingham, a tailor, said to be from Co. Herts, but more prob.
from Kent, came in the Elizabeth, 1635, aged 40, with w. Ann, 40, and ch.
James, 14; Clement, 12; Rachell, 8; Joseph, 5; Benjamin, 2; and two serv.
and here had Samuel, bapt. 24 Mar. 1639; and Hopestill, Sept. 1644;
was freem. 3 Mar. 1636, and d. 17 Sept. 1671. CLEMENT, Hingham,
s. of the preced. brot. from Eng. by his f. d. bef. 1669, leav. wid. Ruth,
wh. in a petitn. to the governm. of the Col. Apr. 1676, set forth, that she
had two s. Clement and Solomon, serv. with Capt. Lothrop when "the
flower of Essex" was slain, that Clement was k. by the Ind. soon after at
Westfield, wherefore she pray. that Solomon might be disch. EDWARD,
Boston 1633, came with Thomas Leverett, as his apprent. in the Griffin,
freem. 9 Mar. 1637, was disarm. as a favorer of Wheelwright, had John,
bapt. 23 Jan. 1642. * EDWARD, Weymouth, freem. 13 Mar. 1639, had
Prudence, b. 11 June that yr. and Increase, 28 Dec. 1641, was rep. 1639-41
and 60, as well as ch. Elder. His d. Susanna, m. 16 Dec. 1658, Nathaniel
Blanchard

Elizabeth had Susanna, b. 6 Feb. 1680; Edward, 3 Feb. 1683; John,

Ann Oldham, d. of Sarah O. and gr.d. of Richard North, had Ebenezer,
b. 20 Jan. 1662; but my dilig. inquir. has not learn. what Oldham m.
Richard North's d. GEORGE, Boston, a thatcher, freem. 25 May 1636,
liv. at Muddy riv. now Brookline, went to Exeter, but came back. Belkn.

Edward, b. 31 Jan. 1682; Ebenezer, 1 Mar. 1686; and Ann, 23 Aug.
1695. * JAMES, Dorchester, husbandman, came in the Elizabeth, 1635,
aged 53; with w. Alice, 52; and ch. Lydia, 20; Mary, 17; Margaret,
12; and James, 9; freem. 7 Dec. 1636, selectman next yr. and after;
rep. for Hingham, 1641. He was perhaps br. of Clement, and d. 1655.
His wid. d. 14 Aug. 1657. Lydia m. Roger Williams of D.; Mary m.
Hopestill Foster; and Margaret m. Christopher Gibson. He had a s.
Richard
, wh. liv. at a hamlet, call. the town of Lid in Co. Kent, whence,
prob. the fam. came. JAMES, Hingham, eldest s. prob. of Clement of the
same, m. 19 Apr. 1642, or 3, Ruth Lyford, that may be conject. as d. of
Rev. John, left by him when he went to Virg. had John, b. 1649; Ruth, Sept.
1651; at Scituate, where he liv. some yrs. but ret. to H. had Joseph, bapt. 20
Nov. 1653; Benjamin, bapt. 15 July 1655; Solomon, 23 Aug. 1657; perhaps
others; and d. 5 July 1689. He petitn. the Gov. and Assist. for relief on acco.
of two s. prest into the serv. against the Ind. His wid. d. 9 Mar. foll.
