A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Old Moor from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:
- "OLDMOOR, a township in Bothal parish, Northumberland; 3½ miles N E of Morpeth. Acres: 911. Population: 69. Houses: 13."
Old Moor township (became a civil parish in 1866) was located between Longhirst and the northern edge of Ashington in Northumberland, England. From 1894 until 1955 it was part of Morpeth Rural District. In 1955 the civil parish was abolished and the area was absorbed into the parish of Longhirst.
