Leyburn Rural District was an administrative division in the southwest of the North Riding of Yorkshire, based on the town of Leyburn. Since the municipal reorganization of 1974, the area covered by Leyburn Rural District has been located in the Richmondshire District, North Yorkshire.

The parish of Colsterdale (#9) was only part of Leyburn Rural District until 1934 when it was transferred to the neighbouring Masham Rural District. Other civil parishes were merged at the time of or after the reorganization in 1974.
