Constable Burton (#10 on map) is now a civil parish and a village in the Richmondshire District of North Yorkshire, England. It is located about 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Leyburn. Its main attraction is the gardens of Constable Burton Hall. It takes its name from "Burton" meaning a fortified settlement in Old English and "Conestable" as it was granted in 1100 to Roald who was the Chief Constable for the Earl of Richmond.

The Wyvill Arms hotel stands opposite the entrance to the Constable Burton caravan site. The establishment is named for the Wyvill family of Constable Burton Hall.

From 1856 to 1954 Constable Burton railway station on the Wensleydale Railway served the village, hall and the rural community. A passing loop is located at the site.

Prior to the nationwide municipal reorganization of 1974, Constable Burton was located in Leyburn Rural District. Historically, it was located in the ancient or ecclesiastical parish of Finghall (#15) in the Hang West Wapentake.
