the following text is based on an article in Wikipedia

Heston is a suburban area of the London Borough of Hounslow in the western part of Greater London. The residential settlement covers a slightly smaller area than its predecessor farming village 10.8 miles (17.4 km) west south-west of the centre of London. It adjoins the wikipedia:M4 motorway but has no junction with it; Heston also adjoins the Great West Road, a dual carriageway, mostly west of the 'Golden Mile' with its concentration of industry.

Heston and Isleworth have spent centuries in and out of partnership with one another. This is discussed in depth in Wikipedia in the History section of the article.
