Harrow Weald was historically part of the parish of Harrow, being made a parish in its own right in 1894. From 1894 to 1934 it was part of Hendon Rural District. In 1934 Harrow Weald parish was abolished, becoming part of Harrow Urban District. Harrow Urban District became a Municipal Borough in 1954, which in turn became the London Borough of Harrow in 1965.
