OBITUARY (Oswego Palladium Times Monday November 13, 1950) William James Cavanaugh William James Cavanaugh, 79, life-long resident of Oswego, died Sunday in Oswego hospital following a year's illness. Born in Oswego, a son of the late James and Julia Burns Cavanaugh, he spent the greater part of his life as an employee of various railroad lines. He was long associated in politics with the Democratic party. He was a communicant of St. Paul's church and a member of the Holy Name Society and the Knights of Columbus. During World War II he served for three years as watchman at Ames Iron Works. Survivors include his wife, the former Jessie Askew; one son, John Cavanaugh, Rochester; three daughters, Mrs. Benedict(Rosemary) Buscher, Ogdensburg; Mrs. George(Julia) Luke and Mrs. Leo(Betty) Monette, Oswego; one sister, Miss Mary Cavanaugh; a nephew Richard Cavanaugh and nine grandchildren. Funeral will be held from the Dain funeral home Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock and in St. Paul's church at 9:30. Burial will be in St. Paul's cemetery.
