1 BIO:Thomas Overton is listed in the Bible copy from Louisa Catherine Hitchcock Thompson Wozencraft. James Lawrence would have been 57 at the time of his birth. His half sister Octavia Wozencraft would have been 12, the other Wozencraft half-siblings older. He would also have had 4 half siblings on his mother's side but we do not have their date dates of birth. Louisa would have been 37 when he was born. This would have been during the Reconstruction Era. He would have been 9 at the time of JL's death. Oct 1997: Per Ken Thompson via e-mail, said found Probate record in Polk Co Ga dated 19 Nov 1891, petition filed to have Thomas Overton tried as a lunatic, he was already confined at State Paupers Farm & had become turbulent & dangerous; signed by mother LC Wozencraft, sister Lucy W, brother Oscar W & step-brother LS Thompson, on 23 Nov trial held & Thomas O was committed & declared a pauper; no death record found.
