Polk County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia. It was created on December 20, 1851. It was named after United States President James Knox Polk. As of 2000, the population was 38,127. The 2005 Census Estimate shows a population of 40,479 [1]. The county seat is Cedartown, Georgia6.
