Thomas Albert Eastman was known in Jefferson County, Illinois with the surname Eastman as well as Esmon/Esman. Marriage records show he was using the EASTMAN spelling when he married, but he and his family still used the Esmon/Esman spelling from time to time as shown in records obtained from the Poe Cemetery in Daisy, Hamilton, Tennessee where he and his wife Martha (Mary Woods) buried a Daughter, Nannie Esmon 16 October 1890.
