    Britton D. Esman Webber Township Biographical Sketch: merchant and farmer, P. O. Tilford, was born in Monroe County, TN, July 20, 1847 and is a son of Wm. Esman, deceased, who brought his family to this county in 1858. Our subject preached regularly in the Baptist Church for 10 years in this county. In June 1883, he engaged in the mercantile business at Bluford, and has built up a good trade in general merchandising. He also carries on the farm. He married Cynthia Patterson February 28, 1869. They have had five children, four are living: Rosa E., Mary J., Ida F. and Anne.

They lived next door to James A. Esman family.
